Networking Dead: our first app for Android Wear

We get ahead Google's yearly conference, Google I/O, and develop our very first app for Moto 360, the company's most awaited smartwatch.

Madrid GDG organised last Friday a hackathon to warm up for Google I/O, the much anticipated conference in which the company communicates the novelties for this year. As it might be expected after the continuous trickle of rumours and news, the topic was Android Wear and the so awaited Moto 360, the smartwatch that we'll all want to have in our wrist.

In solusoft we are always motivated by everything related to innovation, so we couldn't miss the chance to start developing our own apps for Android Wear and we left the event with our very first app for smartwatches.

Networking Dead was born as a mobile app that makes it easier to attend to networking sessions. If you are a regular at this kind of events you should know that, apart from attending, you need to spend a huge amount of your time finding out about the participants before the date, then passing the data of the contacts you made from their business cards to a digital support and, during the event, locating those people you are interested in.

And this is where Networking Dead for smartwatches comes in. With this app installed in your Moto 360 you will know during the event who have similar interests to you and when is the best time to approach them, all this based on where are you at the moment. And the best of all: You won't need to take your smartphone out of your pocket or bag.

Besides, Networking Dead turns the business cards exchange moment into something much easier and more natural: the app will exchange the contact information for you just with a handshake. This way, when you arrive home you'll only have to worry about staying in touch.
